First... There are 55 members on the roster for the 2015 season! Wow! Thats over 50% more than last year. Welcome to all of our new members! Our woodwind section, drumline, and colorguard have seen substantial growth since last year which will make a HUGE difference in our show!
The deadline to submit membership info is Monday, May 18th, which, coincidentally, is the date of our annual Instrumental Awards Concert at the high school. Even new members are encouraged to attend the concert that evening and see the incredible things accomplished by members of the band over the past year! If you have friends who haven't signed up, or have concerns, please feel free to send them my way, or at minimum encourage them to try it. Ask our upperclassmen! They will agree, its an incredible experience for all involved!
Colorguard Pre-Season Training
Colorguard Pre-Season training will continue this Monday evening at 6-9 at the HS. These weekly rehearsals are a great opportunity to hone skills and grow as performers! If you are unsure where to go, look for the massive quantity of flags! If you have questions regarding colorguard this season, please feel free to contact our Head Colorguard Instructor, Kevin Smith, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Drumline and Front Ensemble Pre-Season Training
Drumline and Front Ensemble Pre-Season Training Rehearsals will take place starting Tuesday evening from 6-8:30 in the High School Band Room. If you are a new members, you will come in Door 13 which is the double-silver doors to the band room. Pre-Season Rehearsals will take place every Tuesday evening and is a great opportunity to get a leg up on the work needed for a successful 2015 season! If you have questions regarding that, please let me know and I will be happy to direct you to the correct instructors. Tim Rarick will be leading our Drumline again and we are happy to have him back. Jeffrey Sievers will be joining us this season as our Front Ensemble instructor and is excited to be a member of the Marching Bulldogs as much as we are excited to have him join us!
Student Leadership Information
Are you a RETURNING member interested in serving in one of various leadership roles, including Drum Major, Captain, Section Leader, or Officer, information will be available in the Band Office beginning next Monday, April 20th, after 12:00. There will be a packet, as well as information on an online form you will need to complete. We will have a short 1-hour leadership clinic in the next few weeks as well as an audition date which should be announced shortly as well. I know from talking to many folks there is a lot of interest in student leadership and that is incredible to see. If you have any interest in helping to lead our band to victory again this season, don't miss out on this opportunity. This is YOUR band, not the staff's band, so your leadership is what helps steer is to success again.
